Norman Pickell, a lawyer, mediator and arbitrator, founded the Firm in 1981. Prior to that Norman practiced law with another law firm after being called to the Bar in 1974. As a lawyer, Norman’s preferred areas of practice are real estate, wills and estate planning, powers of attorney, elder law, estate administration, and business and corporate law. As a mediator, Norman has experience mediating various types of conflict. Likewise, as an arbitrator, Norman can handle a wide range of disputes.
Michael R. Ferguson Lawyer
BA(Hons), JD
Michael Ferguson was called to the bar in 2019. He holds a Joint Honours BA in History and Political Science from the University of Ottawa and a Juris Doctor Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.
Born and raised in Bruce County, he and his family now proudly call Goderich home. Since 2019, Michael has been a member and treasurer of the Rotaract Club of Goderich.
Michael’s preferred areas of practice are real estate, wills and estate planning, powers of attorney, estate administration, business and corporate law, and landlord and tenant law.
Kim Phillips-Chapman
Law Clerk and Mediator
Kim Phillips-Chapman has been a law clerk with Norman B. Pickell Law Firm since 2011. She primarily assists Norman in his areas of practice. Kim is also a trained mediator.
Kelly Phillips
Law Clerk
Kelly Phillips has been a law clerk since 1993. She has experience in the areas of real estate, wills and powers of attorney, estates, and corporate/commercial law. Kelly joined the Norman B. Pickell Law Firm in June 2021. She primarily assists Michael in his areas of practice.
Susan Fehr

Susan Fehr has been a law clerk with Norman B. Pickell Law Firm since 2016. She assists both Norman and Michael in their areas of practice.
