Our Areas of Practice – Seniors Law (also known as “Elder Law”)
We provide legal advice to seniors and their families on a wide variety of topics, including:
- wills;
- estate planning;
- powers of attorney for personal care, including revoking the same;
- powers of attorney for property and financial matters, including revoking the same;
- dealing with real estate;
- lease agreements;
- gifts to family members – including whether it is a good idea, and if so, what documents are needed;
- lending of money to others – and whether it should be done, and if so, on what terms;
- investments (in conjunction with their financial advisors);
- other legal documents;
- retirement homes, nursing homes and other seniors’ housing;
- estate administration.
We are available to discuss any of the above with you.
Seniors want to be as independent as possible. Everyone wants seniors to be safe. Mediation can help those families who are unable to talk openly and calmly about these issues. Elder mediation focuses on what is best for mom and dad while at the same time minimizing family conflict.
